I haven’t worked since 2002. And it feels great.
Let me tell you how it all started.

Fresh out of a ‘crafting advertising’ course, I joined Madison and worked on accounts like TBZ Jewellery and Godrej shaving cream.

2002
Marco Marketing
Writer
This was a marketing company that used to market services and properties in Australia. As their only writer, I used to write articles about down under whilst still at a slightly higher altitude. Mumbai to be precise.

2003
Confluence Communication
Copywriter
Keep in mind I come from a catholic family. Now, not only did I have to explain to them what I do. But now, I had to tell them I was selling condoms and cigarettes. Two mild heart attacks later, they seemed ok about it. DKT, a contraceptive marketing company, Golden Tobacco Company, Abacus and Sunnex & Sturdy jeans were the clients I worked on here.

Copywriter / Senior Copywriter / Acting Group Head
A huge learning experience for me. Primarily because of the variety of clients. Moreover, as a house rule, accounts get rotated around. As a result, I’ve worked on clients like Goa Tourism, Infosys, Godrej XS (juice), Shapoorji Pallonji (construction), Godrej & Boyce (furniture), Next, TCL (Electronics Brands), BJN (restaurant chain).

Anything else worth mentioning?
A few things. But that’s what makes them even more special to me.
-> 3rd place at the Ad Asia competition in 2003.
-> Nomination for an Abby. (Bombay Ad Club) in 2003.
-> Voted most likely to bald prematurely in 1987.

Now, for the educational qualifications. A little embarrassing for a copywriter, so I’m going to do this quickly.

HSSC – First Class (68%)
B.com – Distinctions (70%)
Crafting Advertising – They don’t really grade you here)
